RENÉE M. PETERS
Renée M. Peters is a partner of Rudloff Wood & Barrows
LLP. She previously worked as an associate attorney with Gordon
& Rees LLP in the Property Insurance Group.
Ms. Peters specializes in defending insurance companies in bad
faith litigation. She has worked on complex property insurance matters
involving multi-layer insurance programs and contractual claims
in excess of $100 million. She also has worked on third party "bad
faith" cases involving claims of alleged failure to defend and alleged
unreasonable failure to settle lawsuits against the insured.
Ms. Peters received her law degree, summa cum laude, from
the University of San Diego School of Law in 1996. At the University
of San Diego, she served as an Editor of the San Diego Law Review.
Ms. Peters presented the valedictory address at commencement
and received several American Jurisprudence Awards. She attended
undergraduate school at the University of California, Los Angeles,
where she graduated with honors in 1993 with a Bachelor of Arts
in Political Science.
In 2005, Ms. Peters was recognized by the Bay Area Lawyers
Magazine as one of the Best Lawyers in the Bay Area in insurance
matters. Ms. Peters' professional affiliations currently include
membership in the American Bar Association.
In addition to her professional and educational achievements, Ms.
Peters has pursued various athletic endeavors, including a bicycle
ride across the United States and the "Escape from Alcatraz"
triathlon and several Half Ironman distance triathlons.
